My Journey So Far
I am a daughter, sister, aunt, girlfriend and dog mom finding my way through the interwebz. Born in Oakland, raised in San Diego, California, I eventually attended the University of Idaho on a division 1 basketball scholarship. After graduating from U of I in 2010 with a BA in Marketing, I began searching the local area for what would be the next step in my life after basketball. I was hired at Northern Idaho's oldest winery to help the founder prepare his business for sale. I authored the business plan for the new owners to receive their SBA loans to purchase the winery and joined the wintery full-time as the tasting room manager plus all things marketing & events. After a couple years, I maxed out my time I could spend in that 6.85 sq. mile town and moved back to sunny San Diego in 2012.
While coaching basketball with my old club team in San Diego (Elite Basketball Organization), I dove into remote courses (you know, to stand out on my resume) and received my master's certificate as an advanced internet marketing professional from the University of San Francisco. Shortly after I began working for Backplane as a Community Ambassador building online communities on our SaaS platform. 3 years later with the same company (now known as Place), I moved to the tech mecca in SF, became the Senior Customer Success Manager, teaching our platform's best practices, creating tutorial content, and scaling communities while still managing Lady Gaga's LittleMonsters.com, Travelocity's Gnomads and the United Nation Foundation's +SocialGood.
Then fate brought me to SOL REPUBLIC. While at Place, the company moved to a co-working space in San Francisco and during a routine lunch & learn, member company SOL REPUBLIC's founder gave a speech about what the company was all about. As an insane music lover and someone who LIVES in their headphones (yes, I even have headphones tattoo'd on my body), I felt a deep connection with the company's philosophy. Turns out, they were looking for a community manager/social media manager and after being unable to sleep thinking about the job, I applied and a few weeks later I left Place to join SOL REPUBLIC as their Social Media & Community Manager.
At SOL REPUBLIC, this is where things got very interesting. The company went from being a marketing team of over 50 employees to a team of 4. We handled all of the product marketing, strategy and branding. I took on the task of filling in wherever the team needed including playing graphic designer for the first 8 months along with my normal social media duties. 1.5 years into the company, I still manage social media but with the additional tasks of larger marketing initiatives, partnerships and strategic direction.
I find myself now at 29 living in Oakland, California commuting to the city everyday where I am intoxicated with the tech community in San Francisco. Intrigued by tech solutions, software, Adobe creative cloud, online community management, user support and content strategy, I still have a love for all things marketing.

MY VALUES
I figure if companies can have core values, then I must define my values to ensure any project/job I take on should be a reflection of myself.
Integrity
My high school coach always said that character is what you do when no one is looking. Because of this constant reminder, I believe strongly in accountability for your actions and just being an overall good person because they're a dime a dozen. Another infamous quote from someone I respect and admire, "Don't be a dick." - Sean Devlin.
Honesty
Companies love to list "transparency" as a company value but share bits and pieces just for the sake of sharing. I believe transparency is important but honesty goes a lot further. Keep it 100%, no sugar-coating and respect will be earned.
Passion
If you're not passionate about what you're doing, you won't be able to show others the value in what you do. I'm a passionate person and have been the happiest when I'm surrounded by others to share them. My top 3 passions: music, dogs, basketball
Sense of HUMOR
Life is too short to not have a sense of humor. Not every goal will be attained and everything won't go exactly as you expect and that is not a bad thing. I believe that in keeping an open mind and a sense of humor, you can find the joy in anything.
